ADISTA BUILDS A DATA CENTER COUPLED WITH A METHANIZATION UNIT IN THE GRAND EST REGION
Adista, an IT service provider based near to Nancy in the Grand Est region, is building a data center coupled with an agricultural methanization unit. This is a way of limiting greenhouse gas emissions and hedging against rising electricity prices.
The new data center is expected to be operational in the first half of 2023. It will replace another one, two-thirds smaller, which will soon reach saturation.
The group will couple a 150-bay data center of about 1,000 square meters to an existing agricultural methanization unit. The biogas from this facility will be converted into electricity to power the servers and cool them.
Adista, which owns two farms, serves local customers, half of them are public institutions. The others are private companies. Relying on the proximity of its customers, the supplier intends to participate in the regional cloud project led by the Grand Est Region as part of its stimulus plan.
